PRACTICING INCARNATION
And the Word became flesh, and lived among us.
--John 1:14
We believe and declare that God became incarnate in Jesus Christ, but what does the incarnation mean for Christian ministry in the twenty-first century? On Friday, January 16, we will talk together about how our congregations might be “practicing incarnation.” Pastor Donna Simon will present some ideas from her work in the Doctor of Ministry program in Congregational Mission and Leadership at Luther Seminary. She will lead us in a couple of activities and some discussion designed to help us think about how incarnational ministry can energize congregation members and connect them to the larger community in interesting (and even fun) ways.
Dinner at 5:30 followed by the program
Location: Overland Park Lutheran Church 7810 W 79th St, Overland Park, KS 66204
RSVP to (913) 642-4461 (so we can prepare plenty of food)
